Extractor 83 is the center piece of the mining settlement on the planet Wyk.
The small scout robot is returning after a long journey to find new mining sites for precious metals.
TLDR: The piece is the result of a lot of fun :D
By creating this piece I was able to utilize and develop procedural workflows and set up my pipeline with Houdini, Substance Designer, Terragen, Gaea, Nuke and Photoshop; creating new tools for faster asset generation (buildings, spaceships, robot), revisiting some oldschool FX and simply having fun setting up the scene and shot^.^
Assets done in Houdini and Substance Designer with my own tools that I developed while working on this and other pieces, environment base done in Terragen, erosion done in Gaea, all renders come from Redshift in Houdini, compositing done in Nuke, finishing in Photoshop.
